Buying Chests

I believe that no home is complete without chests in some rooms. They have a more homey feeling to it. This is why when I was able to get my own home I had to make sure that I had several of this furniture with me. When it comes to home furniture you would expect to see a lot of shops having chest of drawers in display. This is because this type of furniture is considered to be one of the most useful that you can use at home.

Looking for the Right Chests

One thing I love about chests as furniture is that they are very flexible in terms of design and functions. I had a hard time choosing one when I went furniture shopping because there were hip designs with cute looking drawer knobs. There was even a drawer for kids that I liked even if I am 32 years old.

You see a chest of drawers is a type of furniture that comes with one or more rows of drawers and compartments. They are mostly made out of wood which adds to their timeless and classic appeal. You can store clothes or other personal items in the drawers.

I love wooden furniture. Most of the furniture I got for my house is wooden. I particularly liked the ones that have some kind of antique finish that kinds of stimulate age. So when I went out looking for chests I had this in mind so I had a pretty good idea what I needed and what I was looking for.

Finding the Best Chests

I was able to get good pine chests of drawers for my new home and I am very proud of my finds. To make things better I even got them discounted since I was getting three chests from the same furniture shop. This thrilled the shop owner who graciously gave me a huge discount. I did promise her that I would come back to their shop once I need more furniture.

I got a chest of drawers for my bedroom that was tall and narrow. It had shallow drawers and had double ornate handles.  I was told that it was a lingerie chest. It had five drawers and the top drawer had compartments in them for me to keep other items like jewelry and hair products. I was particularly excited about this one and could not wait to move my things in them.

The other chests I got were beautiful pieces made out of pine and oak. These ones I planned to place in the hallway and the living room area.
